Is SpinWheelGo really free?

You can start free with no credit card. Manual wheels, quizzes, and surveys are included. Free includes a small monthly AI allowance, rooms up to 30 people, and 24-hour saved decks. SpinWheelGo Pro is $5 per month or $48 per year for unlimited AI, permanent saves, CSV export, and larger rooms.

Do I need to install an app?

No. SpinWheelGo runs in any modern browser on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. The host opens the site, the audience scans a QR code — no downloads required.

How does the audience join a live session?

When the host launches a Live Room, SpinWheelGo generates a unique QR code and join URL. Audience members scan the QR or open the URL on their device, type a display name, and they're in.

Is SpinWheelGo a free Kahoot or Mentimeter alternative?

Yes, you can start free. SpinWheelGo supports AI-built questions, document-to-quiz from PDF/Word/PowerPoint, and real-time scoring. Free rooms cap at 30 participants. Pro adds larger rooms, permanent saves, and CSV export.

Can I build a quiz from a PDF or Word document?

Yes. Upload any PDF, Word document, or PowerPoint slide deck and SpinWheelGo's AI extracts key facts and produces multiple-choice questions in about 30 seconds. You can edit, add, or remove questions before launching.

Are responses recorded? Can I export them?

Live quiz and audience survey results are recorded to the host's private dashboard with real-time charts. CSV export is included with Pro. Spin Picker results are saved to a timestamped spin history. Practice Run mode (survey) does not save anything.

Can respondents submit anonymously?

Yes. The async survey intake screen has a 'Submit Anonymously' checkbox that records the response without linking to a name or email. Anonymous responses are clearly marked in CSV exports.

How many participants can join at once?

Free rooms include up to 30 live participants. Pro rooms include up to 100. Audience members join from any browser with a QR code or link — no app install.

Does SpinWheelGo work in classrooms?

Yes — teachers use SpinWheelGo for cold-calling students (Spin Picker), running trivia review sessions (Live Quiz), and end-of-class exit tickets (Audience Survey). The Education preset category has ready-made wheels for common classroom use cases.

Sessions are stored only as long as needed to run the activity and produce the results dashboard. You control your own session URL — no public discovery. Anonymous responses are stored without user identifiers. See the Privacy page for full details.

What is a Take-Home Quiz?

Take-Home Quiz is SpinWheelGo's self-paced, server-graded quiz mode (May 2026). The host configures multiple-choice questions, sets a per-attempt timer (1-240 minutes), and shares one link. Each participant takes the quiz on their own device on their own schedule. The server enforces the timer, auto-grades on submit, emails the host every submission, and shows the participant their score immediately. One attempt per email is enforced via deterministic attempt IDs.

How is Take-Home Quiz different from Live Quiz?

Live Quiz is real-time, host-driven, team-based scoring with a spinning wheel — designed for everyone in the same room at the same time. Take-Home Quiz is async, self-paced, individual, auto-graded — designed for homework, training comprehension checks, certification practice, and hiring prescreens. You publish a Take-Home Quiz once and walk away; the server runs every participant's timer.
